{"id":4387,"date":"2020-10-04T07:38:00","date_gmt":"2020-10-04T07:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/whyidont.com\/iciec\/news-and-events\/iciec-signs-cooperative-mou-with-uk-export-finance\/"},"modified":"2020-10-04T07:38:00","modified_gmt":"2020-10-04T07:38:00","slug":"iciec-signs-cooperative-mou-with-uk-export-finance","status":"publish","type":"news-and-event","link":"https:\/\/iciec.isdb.org\/fr\/news-and-events\/iciec-signs-cooperative-mou-with-uk-export-finance\/","title":{"rendered":"ICIEC SIGNS COOPERATIVE MOU WITH UK EXPORT FINANCE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>On the 17<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;of August 2020, the Islamic Corporation for the Insurance of Investment and Export Credit (ICIEC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation with the United Kingdom\u2019s Export Credit Agency, which operates under the name UK Export Finance (UKEF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The MoU allows for both entities to enter into co-insurance, reinsurance or cooperation agreements to engage in strategic joint projects that support exports and investments from the United Kingdom into ICIEC\u2019s 47 member countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The partnership is beneficial for both institutions as they share an interest in promoting and supporting Islamic finance transactions. There is also potential for UKEF to risk-share with ICIEC and leverage on the Corporation\u2019s preferred creditor status, across key international markets for UKEF\u2019s support including UAE, Oman and Bahrain \u2013 all ICIEC member countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis cooperation agreement strengthens the existing relationship the Corporation has with UKEF,\u201d says ICIEC CEO Mr. Oussama Kaissi. \u201cDespite, or perhaps due to the troubling times we\u2019re living in, demand is growing for guarantees in OIC markets where credit and political risks pose a greater challenge.
